The busy warehouse at Z.Bigatti packs and ships a great deal of orders to consumers, department stores, spas and boutiques, as well as international distributors. In order to protect products from breakage during shipping, Z.Bigatti is proud to use only biodegradable organic cornstarch packing peanuts.

Cornstarch peanuts are made from natural polymers, and unlike their synthetic counterparts made from Styrofoam; these FDA approved peanuts are reusable and dissolve almost instantly in water, leaving no toxic waste behind. You can even put them on your compost pile. I’ve heard they are edible, but I wouldn’t suggest anyone try to eat them. Ugh!

According to some reports, Styrofoam peanuts can remain in the environment as a pollutant for up to 1000 years. Some packing peanuts contain toxic chemicals and polluting gases, not only causing harm to the environment, but according to the EPA- also making people ill after long-term exposure. I am sure you can see why this was an easy decision for Z.Bigatti to make.
